Antioch Daily Bread Food Pantry scores a Touchdown!

Friday was an amazing day for Antioch Community Church.  Care and Share from Colorado Springs included Antioch in their Mobile Food Pantry drops. They brought out about 5000 pounds of food to be given out that day. Melissa Kragel and Crystal Bushey coördinated this huge project and they did a super job. We had a lot of volunteers show up to help unload the food, put it on tables and carry it to the customers cars. It ran really smoothly and the brightly colored volunteer T-Shirts added an atmosphere of joy for our customers. Melissa Marts from Care and Share came out and helped us a great deal. Leticia from Care and Share gave out samples and recipes and we passed out information about the pantry and job skills van. We were able to serve at least 55 families. Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have given Antioch, for the opportunities to help people in our community, for opportunities to love and minister, and for the people from agencies like Care and Share who are willing to come out and help.

The Antioch Daily Bread Food Pantry is a ministry of Antioch Community Church and serves around 80 families a month and it is growing every month. Each family can come to the pantry twice a month and the mobile drop once a month. We are open every other Saturday and every Sunday after Church services.

Besides the food pantry, we also have the Peak Vista  medical van that visits the church twice a month offering free medical care to those who need it. The Pikes Peak Library District is sponsoring a job skills workshop at the church to help those that need a job or need help writing a résumé. they have a big bus outfitted with computers for filling out applications or making a résumé.

Antioch Daily Bread Food Pantry has been in operation for about 2 years and God has blessed it beyond belief. We are trying to meet not only the spiritual needs of our community but the physical needs as well. We are in the process of trying to build a new building to house the pantry ministry. That will make it possible to do even more for the people in our area.

This ministry has been not only a blessing to the people in our community, but also the people in our church and all the volunteers that give their time so unselfishly.  If you would be interested in supporting this awesome ministry, please contact our church office at 719-683-2210 or email to
